The Tender Trap

Whether it's by amplifying the truth/reality

Whether it's by accepting stuff that you wouldn't normally put up with

whether it's putting a special ringtone for them or going out of your way to please them

we all fall for that trap at somepoint in our lives

Should i remain the only sane one out of the bunch? or should i wise up and join the crowd?

why do we pretend that being on our own isn't getting to us? IS IT? Sometimes it does.

Am i really that sane? Rather than a commitment phobe / ingrateful prick? someone with issues, some serious baggage? i don't feel like i have baggage, not very heavy ones at least.

whether it's making a fool of yourself infront of a total stranger, or worse (a close friend)

whether it's a girl groping another girl at a party

whether it's proposing to your ex g.f 3 months or so after your current love turned down your marriage proposal

wether it's willing yourself to marry a guy you barely know, who lives in Japan, and who won't even be there during your marriage cuz he can't take time off

Holding out for a hero? more like holding out till the next person shows up.

Nora: i'll pencil the concept in

Insomniac: are you ok? why delete an entire blog? are your words really not that important to you? maybe they were important to others? and yes that's what i think "them" did, that's why "they" got married, but if i'm not mistaken i think you are one of "them" so tell me, did you marry for love or Salonaat? and if so, what is it like now after a couple of years of it?

Sam: you're the man, and you're welcome ;)

k, being ok is relative.. as for my words, if they r important, they shall be remembered whether i keep my blog or not, no?:)

i did marry for love, it's not really that bad except that marital fights tend to be more intense when ur in love.. was that of any help??

KareemFromEgypt said...

absolutly true when it comes to being remembered, nice answer.

and the marriage for love bit was helpful, naturally the fights are more intense, and my guess would be that they'd be more frequent as well, if u don't care about someone it's easier to forget about them or ignore them

i loved that post, long time no smart & thoughtful posts like this one begad. i need to read it over & over so that to get the best wisdom of it,bravo 3alik fe3lan:)

"Holding out for a hero? more like holding out till the next person shows up." just perfect.

Don't dwell on it too much ya K. People marry for different reasons. You need to know your own reason for commitment: wanting to vs not wanting to commit. Its tough being on your own, but its tougher being with the wrong person.

I say, definitely hold out for a hero.

that makes me think.... is love overrated? Does it exist or do people pretend that they are in love just for the sake of not being alone?
love the post... it made me think

that was a good post.

holding out till the next person shows up....

more like the next person who makes you smile, warms your heart, gets you and makes it better and shows up at the right time.. i personally don't think thats something that comes along that often... maybe a few times and you should be smart enough to not let too many of those go, if only for the experience itself :)

well well well..were u really holding out in the 1st place?

I know how it feels being caught up inbetween what u think u deserve and what circumstances lead you to believe, and break ur spirit.

Yes hold out..but not for too long..just long enuff to reach the finishline and not too long to deter.

I've noticed that most of your best posts are about relationships, love, or just feelings in general.
You write very well when you write about these topics....
This was an excellent post beautiful, it was quite thought provoking!!!

I say wise up and join the crowd.

I know you can be surrounded my 100s of people and still feel alone, you can go out every day but still dont have fun.

Its all your doing, you should learn to take advantage of your life before it takes advantage of you

What you need is some pink lemonade.

I really can relate to That K.. I sometimes feel very sane for not getting into a relationship and mock the people who do.. and yet sometimes I yarn for the small things that one last call of the day right before you sleep where you feel someone out there cares to know the details.. As for crying over spill milk that is really my specialty going back to the past.. Man I really wish sometimes I just LET GOO... Amazing post.. *Two thumbs up*
